Soaring Eagle Fishing and Adventures provides and coordinates
some of the finest and most exciting fishing opportunities
in Alaska.
The Kenai Peninsula and the Cook Inlet area offer the best
overall fishing opportunities in Alaska. Between mid May and
early October, fishermen have their choice of five different
types of salmon, halibut, rainbow trout, steelhead, Dolly
Varden/char and grayling.
Cook Inlet is one of the few places where king salmon is
available the entire season. The peak of the first run of
king salmon is mid May to late June. A second run of king
salmon pass through the area in late June and July. "Feeder"
king salmon reside in these waters year round. There are significant
numbers of king salmon caught each year in area waters in
the 50-90 pound range, but the average is 20-40 pounds. The
king salmon are followed in late July and August by a large
run of silver salmon, ranging in size from 8 to 18 lbs.
One day fly out trips are available for both silvers and red
salmon from Mid June through August.
Halibut is abundant from May through mid September in Cook
Inlet. While halibut from 200-400 pounds are caught regularly
each year, the average fish from 15-50 pounds and are by far
the better eating fish.
September is catch-and-release steelhead and trout season.
It is one of the most beautiful and peaceful times of the
year to fish the local rivers. The steelhead average 6-10
pounds, with fish up to 15 pounds.
Rainbow trout can be found from middle of June to the middle
of October. Rainbows on the upper Kenai River average 3-6
pounds, but there are many caught in the 8 -12 pound range.
A few reach 20 pounds.
Our weekly fishing and adventure package at Soaring Eagle

and halibut.
Those wishing to forgo the sightseeing opportunities can add
additional halibut, Kenai River, drift boat or fly-out fishing

Many of the salmon we are pursuing in the saltwater are fish
that soon enter Deep Creek and the Anchor River. They can
be fished at certain times and in certain areas on foot, in
waders along these rivers. We maintain a supply of gear from
hip boots to spin and fly rods for our guests to borrow and
use themselves to give this type of fishing a try while they
are staying with us. Our guests are particularly successful
with silver salmon in August and King salmon in late May and
June in these local rivers. We have guides available for you

you head off yourself.
